GEORGE EVANS

This was posted by Victoria Doran.

George Evans is  known of from his presence on the Rolls of Honour in both St Bridget and St Andrew churches in West Kirby.

St Bridget – Roll of Honour

George Evans’ name does not appear on Grange Hill War Memorial, nor in the Book of Remembrance, but it did appear in the supplementary list published in the Deeside Advertiser in August 1922 when the Grange Hill War Memorial was unveiled. No mention of him has been found in any local newspaper published during the war.

As neither his date of death or military unit is known, it has not been possible to establish who he was.

Any information on a George Evans who died as a result of the First World War and who had  a connection to West Kirby would be most welcome.
